Another silly situation.
In a time of bad economy, especially, why are we limiting the amount of business that can go on in downtown Geneva. Currently street vendor permits are not being given out. My understanding of this is because at one time it was decided to be harmful to currently operating businesses.
This is silly.
Why not just prevent ANY new business from opening for fear of effecting current businesses?
At the very least there's room for a few food vendors that could make a substantial amount of money from the bar crowds at night.
That also means more $$ for the city in the form of permits.
So, here's the proposed action plan for this one:
1 - Do some digging to get the history of the current laws concerning vendor permits.
2 - See what convincing the City needs to re-instate vendor permits.
3 - Form a plan to convince the city to re-instate vendor permits. This could include anything from petitions to demonstrations. We're only limited by our persistence and creativity here.
Discuss!
