Current
Every year in August the earth moves through a debris field in space left by a comet. This creates what is called the Perseids Meteor Shower, a night of hundreds of shooting stars. This year the peak of this meteor shower falls on August 12th, and there will be no moon to overpower the meteors.
I'd like to host a Star Party on August 12th somewhere in the city, hopefully in downtown/north side city park.
Who wants to help?
Can we get permission to keep the park open all night long? Can we get a few street lights turned off?
